Featured Projects

Here's just a few examples of the types of transformative projects that RC Energy has completed.

Large Scale Solar : University Site

Large solar systems require a long development process. RC Energy Group and the University of Illinois were able to navigate through the Illinois procurement process, interconnection to the campus, and the permit approval process, resulting in a solar farm that covers 26 acres of land adjacent to the University.  Beginning with the first full operating year in 2016, this solar system has produced more than 72 million kWh, which is equivalent to roughly 125 million miles driven by an average gasoline power passenger vehicle.

Multi-Site Rooftop Installation : Global Agriculture

Operating in a remote part of Hawaii, this global agricultural company wanted to generate its own energy in addition to needing a solution to clean-up its power.  Through a combined system, RC Energy worked to install multiple solar sites on three Hawaii campuses.  To improve resiliency, RC installed two battery energy storage systems that can " “island” (i.e., provide energy when the grid is not available).

Lighting As-A-Service : U.S. Beer Manufacturer

Rockwell partnered with Dalkia Energy, a subsidiary of the public French utility Électricité de France (EDF), deploying lighting upgrades for a major U.S. Beer Manufacturer, across multiple facilities through the United States and Canada. The projects effectively transformed the company’s lighting arrangements from client-maintained assets to service agreements with superior warranty terms and reduced maintenance obligations. The projects generate significant savings over the service term.

Energy Project Financing : Hospital System

This northeast hospital wanted to upgrade its energy infrastructure, yet it also wanted to preserve its own capital.  In partnership with a world-leading provider of heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration solutions, RC Energy was able to develop a long-term installation plan together with a financial solution that allowed for steady roll-out of projects. The final transformation included HVAC system upgrades with high efficiency motors, economizers, fluid coolers, duct work and piping, in addition to facility upgrades including lighting retrofits and elevators replacements. Through the efficiency improvements coupled with the long-term financial solution, the hospital was able to neutralize the cost of the infrastructure improvements.
