Challenge

As a utility, Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) has a mandate to increase its generation of renewable energy, however, it also has a requirement to utilize Public Utility Commission approved contracts.

Solution

RC Energy Group in conjunction with its EPC partner worked hard to design a system that optimized production and cost efficiency. On the contract front, RCEG and its legal team, approved PG&E’s form of Feed-In-Tariff, despite the fact that relatively few financial institutions have been able to provide financing for the contract. The end result of RCEG’S effort is a 2.1 MW project operating in California that went into service June of 2014.
